Detective Michael Hayes’ boyish charm undercuts his
personal experience in fighting crime. Having lost a
family member to gun fire several years ago, he has
always wanted to give people the kind of protection
that he wishes that family member could have had.
Since then he has driven himself to be the best police
officer he could be, not only in the precinct, but to the
community of Mercer in general. He’s a cop who is
very cynical when people give him trouble, and is not
afraid to play rough when necessary, so long as there
is no foul play involved. Together with his partner,
Detective Jonathan Goodrem, he is not prepared at
all when they investigate a case with bizarre scientific
findings.
